Here's an update from before I started working on it last night. The square nose is gone and now I have a ton of work to do. I plan on sculpting the bottom lip area out of eps foam and glassing over that. Next, I'll shape and sculpt a new top deck nose out of eps and pull a mold off of that...
Nice pics. Looks like you had a good time. I grew up on that lake and I sure do miss it:frown: :frown: If I had only had the sense to own a superjet back then....
Sounds like there are some good ideas out there to make this sport work. I like what I was hearing out of the new Region 7 promotor about having 3 2 minute runs instead of just one for freestyle competition. I love the freeride aspect of the sport, but I'd also like to see the competition side...
That sounds about right. This market is just too small for much more competition. I'd say it's borderline saturated as it is. I wonder if it would be worth it to contract manufacturers of other products that use the same technology. I know of a flats boat manufacturer that makes some sweet...
I'm not too far from the Sanford/Orlando International airport. I hope to show up in Daytona Thurs evening but I could probably get my wife to do a shuttle run at one other time. Sanford/Orlando is about 45min from Daytona.
Congrats:hail: I thought I was going to try one today but the f'ing beach patrol wouldn't open the pwc zone because of a small craft advisory that didn't exist. :banghead: :banghead:
I'm with Ice on this one. Cut a bunch of wooden shims that you can drive into the bond line as you go. The heat gun does do wonders for the green stuff, but I imagine that theres a lot of it in the bond line.
I've done some searching and can't find any specific info on porting the headpipe and manifold for a b-pipe. I think I have an older setup (42mm) that I'd like to open up but I can't find anything on how to do it or what to do. I think I can wing it, but I'd prefer to have a little guidance...
I didn't say when I'd compete. It's not like I have to go out next season and do it......although I might. As soon as I perfect the no-handed flatwater backie I'm in:rolleyes: Maybe I'll settle for a decent BR.
The purpose of this thread is to give you guys a glimpse of my entry for the 2007 buildoff and also to get you other competitors off your lazy arses and in the shop. As you can see from the pics, I have a LONG way to go. The starting point is an old squarenose hull that I received from SJ/XP...
Can we nominate people? I nominate WasteLand for round 3. He's going to try to back out of it, but that can't happen. He's officially been called out. :cheer: I mean really, who can place 4th in amateur freestyle and not try to step it up.
