    Excessive wear on driveshaft?

Why did you pull the shaft? Was it making noise or just changing props? Make sure you grease all the splines well before reassembly. Failing to do so will result in rapid wear!

I saw Yamasaki pull the motor on the beach to change a starter - Not difficult once you've done it a few times. Maybe someone can lend you a hand. From the mao you're close to several peeps. If you list your exact location .......

    getting this stupid starter out...

Never looked w/stock pipe, but w/B-Pipe seems you could remove the first part of the pipe & pull straight out. You DID remove both wires right?

    handpole install

I always undo the handlepole turnplate end. Never tried the other end, it'd be much more work I think. This is all on SJs BTW.

    Meltdown!

Yeah, I always keep an eye on the pissers when I first go out & occasionally thereafter. We were riding in the wave break area & it must've sucked up the junk & I didn't catch it in time. :17:

    Meltdown!

Here's the result of sucking seashells/sand up & plugging the front coolant line coming off the head. :scared: The ski was running fine, then I landed off a wave & did a sustained full power tailstand to recover (a smaller wave was crashing over me) & suddenly the motor lost a cylinder. I guess...

Nick dude, your motor WOULD make 120 HP IF you'd remember to put the sponges in...:Banane01: I'd guess you're not making big top end HP, just gobs of torque.:headbang: Maybe 105? But so what? You're a surf rider; You never get to hold it wide open that long. Maybe on flatwater....

The 951 is a PV cylinder, runs low compression & timing (it's in a couch) and is tuned more for mid & top end. I'd think Paul can easily make 130 w/out PVs on pump gas....:Banane01:
