Dude, Anything near the LA basin is going to be a nightmare. The poor folks coming from southern Cali only have about 250 miles to cover, and it typically takes then 4 to 6.5 hours to make the trek....I have to be honest - I haven't been your proposed route, but still, it's well worth you...

Water temps in Pismo only fluctuate by about 10 degrees year round - I wear a 2/3 mil farmer john with a 1 mil rashie, booties, gloves, vest and tour coat and am very comfy.....oh, and don't forget the helmet it you like your face/teeth ;) LP
