You can only go so far up before the hull before too small. Find the point right before "too small" and leave a little extra so its not insanely weak.
Heres a pic of mine, and its hitting a justa tad. I blame it on Adrian for putting the water box in wrong when marking...haha
Mine is a Kawi...
put hole up as far as possible to keep it from hittign the box. Pipe a chambers are abitch until you get use to it. I can tear down a SJ exhaust from manifold to rear in no time.
Check, double check, and check again
Had the same problem with mine(old salt water boat)
used a propane torch then gasket remover to help eat off the corrsion, then more torch and then a BFH

Finalized plans with Ronny and Ally last night, but went to bed soon aftera nd didnt get online to post.
Thanks for watching out for me Adrian. You may release the dibbs. lol
Everyone opinion can vary. I had the thought too but after talking with Paul I decided not too. He advised on my setup(bolt ons with porting) that I not worry with it. Keeps it a bit more reliable, and safe the way I suck up water as much as I do.
He didnt say it but I kind of assumed from the...
