I have an 89 hull I am selling and it has the direct cable. It looks less complicated but everyone says it sucks! Fnny thing is the sub plate and steering system were all the same. The sub plate even has a place for the squeirl cage to bolt up to.

Since I will be moving to Huntsville, AL and will be a lot closer than I was... I am hoping to make it this year!

Why not :) Pete, I can post up a pic of the inside of a hull. All the Kawie hulls have a places made into the fiberglass the hold a nut. Then they are covered in epoxy. It will be hard to mode an insert if you ask me. Maybe a hull repair insert will work.

I may. Or how about a crazy 4 link hinged hood where it would move out of your way over the nose of the ski so you can work on your X2.

I have had an idea on a hood mod.... Make it so it opens to one side. No one out there has a side pivoting/opening hood!

Pete where do you hook up a tow rope then? I bought some ZXi tow hooks off of eBay and plan to use them somewhere on my X2 if I ever do a build on it.

Buy a rod from Riva kit and have a local shop replace it. If you have ever had a set of cases ruined by a broken rod you wouldn't straighten it out yourself. I have one take out everything and I mean everything. That was an expensive repair!
