I made mine with 2 layers of cloth and 1 layer of mat, not sure what oz. I just have this HUGE roll of cloth from a company that used to make boats, someone my dad did work for was done building his boat so he was tossing it. I dont know how thick it is, but its sturdy as can be.

well, is $300 out of your range? Like I said thats a rough estimate.
would you want handholds, or not? I put them in mine but find them rather useless, except for taking off the hood. I can do one on one side for removing the hood if thats what you'd like.
Shoot me a PM with what you want...
I have an extra squarenose hood that is stock. I have tried to sell it with no luck, its in great shape. I have considered doing the Yamaslut hood mod to it just as I did to my own, and selling it.
However, I wont do it if its just going to sit at my house some more. Is anyone interested in...
its not hard to ride an sxi and if you can do anything on an sxi you can easily transfer it to a superjet. if you can find a SJ go for it, if not spend a couple bucks on the kawi and make it a decent ski and have some fun.
anything less than $1000 and youll be wasting your time. Tell them you'll work on it for $xx amount of dollars per hour like speedfreak said, and tell them you wont know the final price til its done, but it will be 1/3 the price of any shop doing it. Thats a TON of work and a TON of money...
