    I totally agree and as for a 440 pump they are total old school junk, bulkhead issues , no taper,hassle to change impeller's ect ect.

    that is going to be a super heavy powerplant since it has about 50 pound transmission. and trying to cool the exhaoust is going to be a issue also. good luck

    yes there is a bilge tube that most people discard when boring a nozzle then they will use that tube that is going through the hull for dual cooling and tap the pump housing. then most will go with a elect. bilge pump walla problem solved. lol however you can reinstall it to siphon again after...

    I would say yes have someone else do it. however if machining is something you are interested in than try to be around it as much as you can and pay attention I grew in a shop and I still learn everyday.

    The biggest thing about machining is setup some people get real creative with fixtures and four jaw's and alway's alway's check spindle speed. I have never had anything fly out of a lathe (I'm lying )
