Super Jet '95 SN Quick and Dirty refresh

I've been away from the site and my ski for a couple of years, not necessarily by choice, but by time / $$$ / career / etc.... Excuses, excuses... Anyways, I picked up what I would call a 90% stock '95 SquareNose back in October, and it has sat under cover in the garage until a week ago...

Help... motor wants to idle WAY too fast.

Ok... quick background: 6m6 stock internals. Protec Mach 1 Pipe. Enhancer with rev limiter maxed - ran great last year. Now, new for this year: fresh rebuilt single 44 from JSS (stock jetting.) All new fuel lines with new primer. And... new (old) ocean pro head. I know I'll need to...

Quick question about JSS plunger primer

There are two barbs on the JSS plunger primer. One comes straight out the bottom, the other comes out at like a 45. I'm assuming one is an air intake? Anyone know which is which? Thanks. -Evan

YIPPEEE!!! Time to de-turf. LAST project on this boat

This will be it for this SN. I'm going to returf it for the rest of the summer, ride it like I stole it, then push it into semi-retirement. It's been a good little boat, but come Fall it's going to be time to buy a serious ski. Anyhow... I spent about a half hour last night ripping and...

Y'all seen the new Blowsion rideplate yet?

http://blowsion.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=02-01-247 Maybe I'm behind the times... but I just saw this today. I've seen crazy plates like this before, but not "mass-produced." Discuss amongst yourselves...

Found a cool site for custom ODI Lock Rings

http://www.purelycustom.com/c-116-odi-grip-clamps.aspx I was looking for a cheap place to buy replacement grips and ran across this site. No, I haven't done business with them, so maybe they're just a bunch of chumps. $8.95 for custom engraved lock rings doesn't sound like the worst deal in...

    Killer Wetsuit deal. Cool Website.

There is a nice looking Rip Curl full wetsuit for $119 in all sizes at http://www.whiskeymilitia.com It's basically a outlet for a whole bunch of different brands (Volcom, Element, Dragon, Electric, Nixon, DC, etc.) They list one item at a time and usually run it for an hour or two or until...

Quick question about fuel: premium vs reg.

On a good ol' carbed two-stroke, will jumping from 87 regular to 92 premium without any other changes cause any issues? Basically I have a new head ready to be installed, and I jumped the gun and got 10 gallons of premium, premixed and ready to go. Unfortunately, between now and my...

    Finally got some brap!

I've had a ProTec Mach I pipe and manifold sitting on my workbench for my 650 sn for months. Finally got the thing mounted, plumbed, etc. and got out on the water yesterday. Very noticeable increase all across the powerband. It ran so well last night I don't think I'm even going to bother...

What kind of goop should go on cylinder head bolts?

Loctite? What color? Anti-seize? Silicone? Peanut Butter? Are the torque settings the same no matter what brand/type of head? What are your personal torque preferences?

Cayucas Freeride Comp - Lots of Taylor Curtis pics

I just noticed this gallery posted yesterday on the azhiaziam.com. Haven't heard anything about this event. A whole bunch of your standard badass cool big air pictures. I assume that is Taylor Curtis' ski with the flaming skull paint job - as Borat would say... "very nice." I don't think I...

D-Cutting a stock plate tonight... tips?

I'm going to D-Cut a stock rideplate tonight (you know, one of those pretty green ones.) I've got to run by the hardware store anyway, so I'm picking up a crapload of Dremel bits. Is any specific bit or disk best suited for cast aluminum?

Bilge Pump Install - How tight is too tight? *Pic*

The title speaks for itself. The angle of this picture makes it look tighter than it actually is. The top corner of the pump is about 1/8" - 3/16" from the coupler. I might try and take a chunk out of the plastic pump housing. P.S. The BFH is there for weight to keep the thing in place...

Have you ever actually used the extinguisher on your ski?

I'm not knocking safety and preparedness. I think it's a good thing to have an extinguisher on your ski somehow, somewhere (in the back of my truck :sneaky: ). But have you ever actually used it on your own ski? The way I see it, the only really flammable part of the ski is in the gas tank...

New Pipe, New Head. Time to re-jet?

I've got a ProTec pipe and and Ocean Pro head that are ready to go into the Square. 6m6, stock internals, stock carb/intake/reeds. Also, all MSD electronics. Probably a dumb question, but I will need to dig into that carb, right? Any suggestions on settings? I've never worked on a carb...

D Cut a Blaster Ride Plate?

Does the D Cut concept transfer over to the Blaster hull as well? I'm about 99% sure nobody actually manufactures one, but that's more of a supply/demand issue. Anyone have any insight?

Oil Injection - Why don't we like it?

Ok, I understand that there are not two sides to this debate. Oil Injection is the devil and the first thing to go. I can come up with a couple reasons why: - One more thing to go wrong - Added weight (for those of you with ski anorexia) - Limited flexibility (for changing ratios) -...
