That would be at idle, and obviously the harder you are on the throttle the lighter they get, I guess it would also matter how your water is routed, and restricted.

You can use an aluminum tube cut to fit inside the pole, with a small enough diameter to slide the spring over. I think wammer sells some pcs that will work as well.
