Yeah dude just use whatever SS and cut them off inside (3" is plenty). Self-tapping would probably help tremendously so you are not trying to drill as you go. You can take the screws back out and fill the holes or grind down any bulges and cracked gelcoat then fill.

Try not to move it around and lay it right the first time. Once it's wet it stays pretty good. It helps if you are laying it over a dark color or a second layers. I've never sewn the edges, I just deal with sh!tty edges if I have to.

Folks say tubbies don't hurt flatwater much. I imagine these will hurt flatwater even less while still providing some added buoyancy for surf riding. Are these legal for competition, btw? That would depend on how you apply it. I'd have to say you didn't think something through if your side...

Wamilton's website has an installation doc for this type of scupper. The scupper actually goes around the 2" pvc. I didn't follow his instructs and ended up making it 3x as difficult for myself. I used 5200 fast cure. I'd recommend putting in a one-way valve too if you have the footwell...

I've put one on before. It's a nice pole.
