Great pics!!! I was @ 8 when me and my gramps rented 550's. That memory still brings a smile.... I zipped around on my knees while gramps was floundering behind the tray sucking exhaust. We still laugh about it, he's @ 90 now.

Started cutting the other side. Still need to hack some off the corners and remove the old rail. Old rail on the left with the rear shortened -3 1/2. Width and wide point are around the same. The new rear is narrower at the corners and longer at the ride plate. My plate will end pretty close...

Leaving a sharper edge from the middle of the ski back. I'm thinking that will hold more water there and give a more positive pop when leaving the water compared to a rounder edge. playing with rideplate shapes. Either round pin or swallow....

The other side will be the same. The old rail is still on the other side and I'm using it to keep the width in check. Got some leftover glass tube from Wavehog for the exhaust. I shaped an adapter from foam and added a few layers of glass. Tommrow I'll grind out the foam and glass to my...

Got a rough shape of the rail using a belt sander. The rest of the shaping will be by hand. Next I'll be extending the exhaust out the back then adding some to the tray.

Here I go again.... The rails I added at the begining of last season finally let go. They were made from surfboard foam with 2 layers of 6oz. cloth so I'm suprized they lasted as long as they did.I did like what they did for the handling but it was'nt perfect. This time I'm making the tail...
