this could be true. im talking dual cooled, SJs, with b pipes and FCV's with the headpipes being fed from the bottoms. other configurations could certainly vary....

towing an unmanned standup with a rope longer than 2 feet will result in a nosedive. seriously.... ive been towing my SJs for years... routinely.... never once a water ingestion issue. i can certainly see how it could be possible, but honestly, ive only heard of it 'happening' online.:shhh:

just like any custom turf job, you just have to take time with your template. initially, i like a very flexible template that 'mimics' what the turf would do. instead of straight cardboard, i now use the shipping foam that comes in rolls, to shape the template. then i transfer that to cardboard...

maybe its because the ski being towed in is already swamped. i tow behind my jetmate about 8 miles a week at around 20-25 mph with a 2' rope. it planes off with no issues at all. the thing to think about is this.... if water is getting into your cylinders... is it because of a bad head...

bs the pressure in the pump while towing isnt as great as you guys are making it out to be. there arent 'scoops' in the pumps that pick up water.... just orifices that get pressurized when the impeller is spinning. when youre towing, water is basically flowing in and 'falling' out of your pump...
