I just went through the same thing and was told the steering stop was casted in to the 08 and up. The 08 and older is bolt on steering stop pretty simple.
That is a good picture of Stanton and Tanner you can see where one of the many sneaker waves wiped everything out. You can tell from how sunk the tires are on the beach cart's of how much water came through there.

You need to take it out and run it build some heat in that motor, you probably have a 1/2" of fuel / oil in the bottom of those cases. Then see what you got.
