I have decided it's nearly impossible to completely seal the back end of a ski! I spent a week of evenings sanding, cleaning and sealing every hole, crack and seam in my ski with some stuff similar to 5200..... and I didn't foam the bottom half. Checked it after the first few rides by shaking...

They dowse the pad with several hundred thousand gallons of water for about 45 seconds, which starts just before the main engines and goes till the water tower empties. So......not usually too much damage.
