If you have enough water in the bottom, then yes, hydrolocking an engine will make it stop turning over... Turn the ski over sideways on the exhaust side, keep both pugs out, and turn in over... If water comes shooting out, then I would take the engine apart and pickle the parts ASAP.

Without better pics, it a guessing game, but that sure looks like saltwater sludge to me... If that is the case, then he has a week of saltwater in the bottom of his cases, which means crank is probably gone... It makes sense that an engine would turn over slowly with water in it, but turn...

Those plugs do not look good... are those salt crystals or saltwater sludge I see on the electrode to the right??? I would assume you got water in the engine and it's partially hydrolocked, and get that thing running ASAP... Good luck

Take your stock ride plate to someone that can weld 2" onto it, and go from there... I can hope on a stock SN and ride it without porpoising, so body position may be a factor that time in the tray will correct...

Are you riding surf or flat water, Freestyle or Buoys? I'm 6'2 285 and in the surf I run an extended stock ride plate, with the plate extended 50mm. On the flat water I use a d-cut WF rideplate as the preferred choice.

Lol, don't sweat the scupper in the surf.... A few of us have them down here and do not have any problems at all.... If you were going to build a surf ski fro scratch, I would recommend not installing one, but if you have it, run it...

The SN bulhead needs to be hacked up pretty good to make it fit.

The heavier/taller the rider, the higher the center of gravity, and based on my experience small changes to teh ride plate makes a huge change to the feel of the ride. and for me a stock length ride plate in the sure (2m+) just does not do it... I guess that's why we have so many options...

My steering pole combination is -7.5" and it helps alot

Let me give my fat arse opinion... lol (130kgs) For us bigger guys, the D-cut brings the nose up alot, not just a little... I have just gone from a composite extended d-cut plate to a stock extended plate with no d-cut, and the ride diffference is night and day. even tho the current plate...

When I was riding flat water, I found that as time went on, I was drinking more than riding... Good friends are what kept me there, otherwise I would be out on the boat with the Family. Now that I have moved, and the surf (good surf) is 15 minutes away, I want to ride every week, regardless...
