    Damage from not properly winterizing

It may be a myth but I heard from reliable sources that avgas was stabile for ten years , I have used it before on skis I winterized for military people that deployed overseas , when they got back the skis did start up and run fine with no issues whatsoever.

    Damage from not properly winterizing

Yes on the older Yamahas you have to remove the airbox top, the air filter and unbolt the coils , on the newer Seadoos you have to unbolt the coils as well , on those Seadoos I did about a month back those rear panels have to be removed to get access to the rear plug but the spark is the only...

    Damage from not properly winterizing

I just fog the engine and try to kill it with the fogging oil, that way the fogging oil hits all the important parts, moving or stationary , two stroke or four stroke , doesn't matter ,it hasn't failed me yet. The amount of disassembly it would take to remove the plugs on some of these...

    Damage from not properly winterizing

Those that have not winterized prepare to be penalized , who said that , I did. I mean really , did you forget how much that ski cost you , seems to me the smart thing to do would be winterize it to be safe .

    Damage from not properly winterizing

Yes I have seen exactly what you are talking about on oil caps before. Part of the flush out procedure on a 4tec after it sinks is to pinch a cooling hose off and let it heat up basically boiling the water out of the oil or you can just run it for an hour , I usually just run the ski for an...

    Damage from not properly winterizing

I literally just got off the phone with one of my regular customers , she has a Seadoo GTI 130SE and Winterizes her ski every year like clockwork, I haven't heard from her this year so I decided to give her a call. The ski apparently never got run so it is still winterized from last year ...

Thunderstruck ! Counter to the Blunderjet thread

I have always wondered exactly where these hulls fit into the spectrum size wise , obviously it is wider than a JS hull and maybe a tad longer,, here are the measurements off what I have here right now . The Thunderjet hull has a step in it at the top like an SN Superjet hull does, the ID...

    Damage from not properly winterizing

Yes the Yami and Kawi four strokers are self draining the Seadoo is closed loop cooling, the only real worries are the exhaust which is always open loop cooled on any watercraft , like I said I put antifreeze in everything , it's cheap insurance.

    2025 Daytona Freeride

I guess we have one Daytona freeride page for the riders and one for the promoters now ? I am just an outsider, I don't ride surf and I don't go to Daytona to ride so April makes more sense to me , just my opinion ,I just enjoy the atmosphere but it looks to me like it is now open season for...

    Damage from not properly winterizing

Every brand is different and sometimes engines from different eras are as well, for example Seadoo 587's early year yellow motors held water in the engines cases , 92 and later engines didn't, any 587-717 past 92 is self draining, 787's and 951 hold water in the engines regardless of year model...

Thunderstruck ! Counter to the Blunderjet thread

According to this thread yes , Apparently there was also a Ferrari ski in between the Hydrojet and the Thunderjet , I am still looking for pics on that one ,difficult because all of those skis were pre-internet, the Ferrari ski is probably the bottom mold for the Thunderjet, my understanding is...

Thunderstruck ! Counter to the Blunderjet thread

I have been thinking about this for a minute , so what if they just reused the Hydroski bottom molds for the Thunderjets , then came up with a new top for it, it kinda makes sense from a manufacturing standpoint and it would explain why the tow halves of these hulls don't fit together properly ...

Thunderstruck ! Counter to the Blunderjet thread

I can't give a Polaris away here , it's Yamaha and Seadoo country , the Kawasaki - Polaris dealer which is the same dealership I worked at three different times just flat out sucks , no better way to put it really, they sell very few skis, it's been that way for years. I am assuming you meant...

I almost spit my tea out on that one ! There is a forum for damn near everything , this one is for stand up jet ski riders , not politics, guns, religion or any of the other 10,000 subjects not related to jet ski life .

Thunderstruck ! Counter to the Blunderjet thread

I am not sure why I had a brain fart and thought I didn't need a pump shoe , for sure I don't need the stock style shoe but I do need something to redirect the water flow at the bottom of the pump , no biggie I made one up out of expanded PVC , I do have to add a piece in at the top so it...

    ‘96 B1 Paint Code

1/2 of a pint would be more than enough when reduced but you will have to see what quantities your local supplier can actually mix up for you.

Thunderstruck ! Counter to the Blunderjet thread

I pulled the pump , trimmed off the nastiness with a razor knife and started sanding, to get the front pump lip right I removed the rubber pump seal and watched the gaps between the hull and pump. I think we are there but before I get carried away I need to get a new pump seal and install it...
