I have owned a bushing x-metal and am currently using the Rrp bearing/riser combo. Night and day difference. Some mods are needed to make it work with an x-metal adjustable pole but the finished product is amazing! Worth every extra cent!especially in surf.

I love my freak, but a first edition is a whole lot different than a newer one. my tray is 2x that size. mine doesnt have the nose piece either. pretty much a lighter sj hull. This one doesn't have the trademark swept/ indented/ lowered lines on the rails either.

Agreed, you made the right choice by going with the carbon. Better to save just a bit more and not have it in the back of your mind that I wish I had gone with the carbon. I'm taking the same approach with the motor for my freak, I'm going to save just a little more and get the stroker dasa...
