Practice figure 8s or circles going left. You can practice lean angles and approaches, vary the throttle, use your legs/feet to turn at a constant throttle position. Isolate how each body input affects the ski's turning.
I ride varying my stance on my SXR. Leg Drags are a confidence thing...
First,
If it's older than it's a 2 stroke, so no crankcase oil to change, just the lower unit gear lube.

The Johnson 15hp I worked on was a float bowl carb, yes you should drain the bowl or run stabilizer in the gas at the end of the season. (Run Ethanol FREE gas with older...
I've seen Bullet Hulls with two drain plugs, one on each side. The Stock SXR Exhaust outlet is very large and would have to be modified for the drain to fit under it.
The Benefit is the SXR sidewalls and tray are "Wet". Water can get stuck on the right side of the hull and never drain out...
I run the Blowsion spring in my RRP/SXR setup with a "slightly" stiff pole. The spring is carrying all the weight this way. I'm running the RRP dual breather mount and Billet pole.

They are stretchy, dry...
