Sounds like a duck bill drain. They are supposed to be split at the end. The drain water by using negative pressure as the ski travels forward BUT they will allow water back in the hull when sitting still. Scottie

The best prop for the blaster is a Hooker. With your set up, I would go 9/15. This prop offers great hook up and revs very quick - two things you want for surf riding. Scottie
