Help! Uneven Compression on New Motor

[QUTE="///M5, post: 1809975, member: 14059"]Domes are perfect w/ no signs of deto. It's just some grease crap on them when I took the pic. There is either detonation or pitting marks on the exhaust side of the lower dome in that pic, zoom it in and look!

Help! Uneven Compression on New Motor

I do, because there is virtually no way to make a cylinder run 25 psi high!, that cylinder is most likely not standard height. 35cc domes and 200 psi just sounds too high to me, even if you are at sea level, my 61x with those domes I got 165 at 1650 feet above sea level, so I went 33 for...

Help! Uneven Compression on New Motor

Watcon must be correct that something is wrong on the mag side. I just don't see how 36cc domes get you 200psi unless the cylinder has been decked or modified. You didn't answer if you ran this motor before the boring, or if you owned it before either.

Lose weight, build muscle with a great program

I took the bait! Lol I started 5 weeks ago with his program and it has helped me out for sure. It has increased the stress on my joints but many new programs do just that to you because of the new stresses. But don't get me wrong, I like this and it has helped alot, and this is my ski off...

Help! Uneven Compression on New Motor

So the pto side is 25 high? You have a problem that everybody wants and I have no idea how to create high compression, it's always the other way around? The scuffing is odd on that cylinder also? Thinking out of the box, I can only think the ring on that cylinder is over sealing, a tapered...

Is one high, or the other low 25, and you owned this motor before also right?

Help! Uneven Compression on New Motor

320 is fine, it should hav been bored from about. 0025" undersize, if it was accidentally bored too large it ends up not getting enough honing , and won't clean up the machining marks. Now this only give low compression, not high. Is one cylinder 25 high, or the other one 25 low? I am guessing...

Help! Uneven Compression on New Motor

Yes, the crosshatch doesn't look right from the photo, I have bored cylinders for over 30 years, maybe it's just the photo? Putting a hone back in to scuff it back up a little more won't open the clearance too much and will only re-seat the rings. If the ring gap was too tight it will 'butt'...

Help! Uneven Compression on New Motor

If you find nothing wrong with the head, I would pull the cylinder, inspect the Ring tips and re-measure the ring gap. Then I would Re-hone the cylinders again, the hone marks appear coarse and minimal for only 6 hours, it should still look freshly honed. While you have that caliper out measure...

FX-1 Thanks uncle bob! Fx1 time

I am confident that mine was worse because I removed them during my pump swap. FYI, the rear sponsors on the Rickter Edge got bigger this year!

You will never reach that with 35cc domes, 33 cc gets you closer.
