I would highly recommend looking into vacuum bagging. I've dipped my toes into the waters a bit on the last few repairs I've done and have been overwhelmed with the finish product compared to normal wet layup. It feels like cheating almost. Next step beyond that is like what @hink320 said...

Have you given any thought to the JSTL system that the California Freestyle guys are using? If it's truly plug and play and as good as they say it might end up being like a TL equivalent of an MSD Enhancer.
I'm curious where this statement originated? Does anybody know who it was that tried it and determined a 155 in a freak was a waste of time? Or, was there some type of flow calculation that was run to come up with the conclusion?
