check them too.
I recently had a similar issue and new n&s did nothing.
The spring must have lost its umph as it would no longer close the n&s
New spring fixed it
First, check the squish before running a 650 head on a 701.
9/15 should be fine.
I run my 61x with a 46 at 120 lo, 150 hi, 2.5 N&S and black 80 gr spring
Worked fine with just pulling battery, gas tank and pipe.
the nice part is the motor is still bolted down to pull the flywheel so it doesn't move around
sheared key on the flywheel?
you have spark fuel and compression (should on a 2014)
so that leaves timing. Pull flywheel and inspect key, keyway and stator
