My lessons from this year...
A 750 SX is not a Superjet, nor will it ever be (sold it)
A torn Patellar Tendon blows
A sprained ankle blows
Save more money for an AM hull
Agreed, but it's based on the fact that it was flipped immediately prior to me (very poorly) riding it around, and then again immediately after lol. Say what you want about Steve but the Chan was a fun ride.
I'd just like to preface this by saying it may not be the best idea....
I glued my pad down, as thick as I thought I wanted it, then I used a paint stripper wheel on an angle grinder to shave it to the contour I wanted. It's messy, but works VERY VERY well.
The Chan rode well last time I hopped on one with a 701 and a pipe. It was my very first time on a freestyle ski, so it felt funky but it was definitely a flip capable setup as it sat. I imagine the new Chan is the same with a bit of work. Keep in mind the key word here is "budget" hull for...
Picked up some shirts
Met some Facebook and X friends
Got tons of pictures
Some free stuff chucked out into the crowd
Sprained ankle
Totally worth it! Can't wait until next year! Sold my Kawi and don't have a new hull yet, so no major parts purchases for me yet!
Sitting here reading this and I look down at my left Knee (Torn Patellar Tendon) and my right ankle (severely sprained it Monday at WF). I am still in Physical therapy for the knee, which was torn back in May and the awesome boot on my ankle should come off next week. Still rode Monday and...
Count me in. Regardless of the past, the Chan was a fun ride last year. I look forward to seeing Steve again this year, and hopefully getting another opportunity on a solid Demo.
Just picked up a 3/2 West wet suit (california) on the Seshday page for $108 with two pairs of Reef sandals as well. Check out the link that Quinc posted.
Just bought a 3/2 suit and 2 pairs of Reef sandals for $100 bucks. Coupon code GEAR25 gives you an additional 25% off on top of the $10 credit listed above. GREAT DEALS!!
The ONLY benefit I see to doing it from your 401k is that the interest you're paying GOES BACK TO YOU. You aren't paying interest to a financial institution. I still wouldn't do it to fund a hobby, but we're different people. At least if you're doing it this way, you'll see the benefits.
We've already got our hotel squared away, but I've already got a line on a house for next year. I think that'll be the way to go, even if it's a short drive away.
