Sorry, had the page loaded for awhile before I responded. For sure a setup wake would get you further. Took me about 6 months of practice before I started getting mine completely around. I don't want to say it's impossible, but be prepared for the grind.
Hows it sound when you jump the starter relay with a wrench or something? Don't replace your starter relay if it sounds the same after you jump the relay with a wrench. Now if you jump the relay and it rolls over nice, you know it's the relay.
Nope, in the ebox. You have 4 things in the ebox. You have the CDI (Brains), the coil (Fires your plugs), the starter solenoid (Powers your starter), and the rectifier (AC from stator to DC to charge battery and run your electronics).
I would take a 550 over a 650. Personal preference. The 650 is big and clunky. 550 feels better to me. Although the 550 has a funky starter/bendix combo. As long as the ski doesn't give you many problems, either one should be fine really.
