x2... it is more comfortable that way too, allows more of your fingers/hand to wrap around your grips. More natural when pulling the throttle.
I am guessing you probably have not ridden with the new throttle yet?
After subbing for years with no aid (toes pressed to the outside) I pulled up with the same amount of effort and went in pretty much vertical (felt that way). If I had not already learned to duck while subbing I wold have gone over the front for sure. Just freaked me out at the time.

Some guys use salt away, I do not.
Flush your ski after each ride, thoroughly rinse down the motor AND pump, coat motor with fluid film or similar. Done.
Dont worry about the straps... I have seen stands 20 years old with the original straps... plus like VUMAD posted, nylon webbing is like a $1/ft (or less).
I would not have lasted this long...
I know being home is nice but with that kind of driving and long work hours why not stay overnight somewhere a couple days a week?
