On a ride at the end of the season on my 1999 GP800 and it started making some tapping noise then "whack" motor stopped. So, I finally got around to tearing it down. I didn't take pics, but the "YPVS" power valves were completely polluted with sludge (they would barely move). So after...
Just got back from Daytona (awesome time) and put my superjet away till warmer weather (it's 10 F today). While there I spoke with Dave of Extreem Throttle about his blaster upgrade kits and I'm sold. So locating a donor ski is and isn't a problem. This is what I've found locally.

I purchased some JSS stuff for my electrical box and I'm trying to put it back together, but have a couple of questions.
The new quick disconnect cables that attach to my starter relay included a small eyelet, that I think, connect to the starter relay and consists of a red wire and red/black...
Doing some winter maintenance on my ski and noticed that the spline on my drive shaft was cooked. So, I pulled the mid-shaft unit to inspect it's spline. It was also cooked.
So I decided to do a complete rebuild of the mid-shaft unit and all has gone well up to this point. The C-clip...
I recently purchased a new Solas 12 vane pump stator (with stubby cone) and realized that my old Solas YB-CD-13/17 impeller won't fit on the new Solas stator. So... I guess I'm in the market for a new large hub impeller.
Impros website states: "You will need a large hub design impeller such...
Upadate: started to dry fit my Solas YB-CD-13/17 impeller (that I purchased YEARS ago) with my new Solas 12 vane pump stator and as you can see from the following pics... problems have arisen :17:
The real problem is that I obviously don't know how to read.
The following is text from...
I purchased a 2004 Superjet that obviously saw too much salt water and was not properly cared for. I planned on pressing the bearing and seals and rebuilding the mid shaft housing, but upon further inspection the vulcanized rubber inside the housing appears to have been penetrated by salt water...
Just put together a new conference room at work and I get to pick the artwork for the walls . I've always liked this shot of Pierre Maixent, but have been unable to find a high resolution version anywhere. Does anyone know where I can locate one or if anyone has some fav pics that they...
I've had this 96 SJ since 2000 and have run it essentially stock with the exception of the standard bolt on stuff (Riva red pipe, intake grate, ride plate, Solas 13/17, AC aluminum pole, foot holds). I figured it was about time to put some money into her. So, I sent my engine down to Jetmaniac...
it appears that the drive coupler is "threaded" onto the end of the crankshaft. I've been using a 3 foot breaker bar in conjunction with a chain wrench and nothings happening. Is the coupler reverse threaded or something? "Left to loose" right...??? Do I need to put heat to it? any ideas???
getting ready to remove a set of sleeves and had a couple of questions that I couldn't find here.
1. what tempature? (mine goes to 11... 550F :)
2. will the oil cook off make my house smell? (should I move this project to the grill)
3. any thoughts on a tool/drift to use on pressing the...
came accross this reasonably clean 1996 Superjet with the exception of some right side bottom deck damage. I do plan on pulling the motor and reinforcing the front end, but would like input from others as to their thoughts on the extent of the damage. Do you think reinforcing will remedy the...
Was doing a rebuild on my Mikuni 38s this weekend and decided to pull out my high and low adjusters to ensure a complete cleaning. When I was screwing in my high adjuster to ensure how many turns I was out, I think I might have put a little too much monkey on the screwdriver. Here's a couple...
put together a quick little gallery of photos from Saturday. The photos have not been edited and the links provide a scaled down version of the original. If anyone wants raw 5MB originals, just let me know. Enjoy.

I picked up a used ski that has an older Factory B-pipe and was both used extensively in salt water and not well cared for. I've disassembled the manifold, head pipe, chamber, water screws and brass fittings. Between the coupler and the cast aluminum head pipe was some kind of crazy brown...
Looking for an alternative to the standard "allen wrench" style water screws from Factory (Hot Products #10-32 Water Screw S/S -- part number COMFAS0013) for my head pipe (spoke with Parrdaddy and BK Twisters aren't in stock yet). Went to http://www.mcmaster.com/ looking for a solution and...
Found this VERY useful document on NGK's website, but couldn't find it anywhere here on the X. So, if anyone would like to add this to the Tech FAQ section that would be great.
First question: replacing my hood seal with watcon seal based on recommendations read online here. During this process decided to drill out two of the little cable tie mount things under my hood that have been broken FOREVER. Looked online for alternative options, but couldn't find anything...
Great Lakes Coastal Forecasting System calls for 9 - 10 foot waves on Saturday.
