Other WTF is with the arrogance of builders and manufacturers of products for our sport

Here's the thing though guys: every time we tweak and grind and reinforce and bend the parts we are buying to make them fit/work, we are perpetuating the problem. A commercial transaction is about exchanging money for value. You make a judgement upfront about whether the price asked fits with...

Shop Stand used as a Loading Ramp

I have a leg on mine that folds out to support the back of the ramp so it doesn't sink. I like to keep my rear axle dry....

Shop Stand used as a Loading Ramp

Every time I put my ski on the truck people look at me like I'm an idiot when I back down the ramp. When they see me put it up there they always say "that's the coolest thing I ever saw!" - I always get a kick out of that! I can't use a trailer since we almost always have the boat on the back of...

    Other limited chambers no more....?

Well then my B-Pipe just got a whole lot more valuable! Art certainly does turn out a great motor using a mod pipe, but lots of people use a limited for low end.

Super Jet Does stock nose foam on rn stop the ski from sinking?

The thing about the nose foam is that it can't get waterlogged. Does it help? Yes. Will a ski float without it? Yes, as long as the rear foam is not waterlogged. Will a ski float without it once you've installed a scupper and lost all that foam from the scupper tube? Just barely. If you have a...

Super Jet cranks slow no matter what battery is in it.

Crank it for a few seconds and see if the starter cables are getting hot (one from the battery and one from the e-box). If so then I would check the cables first. Otherwise this could start getting expensive....

That would be nuts! Surerly not...?

    2010 Smith Lake Assault

I'm going to try to come - I get in from Hawaii on Friday and fly to England on Sunday, but I'll try to make it there for at least some of Saturday.

Super Jet My SJ Leaks in the hood area ALOT! Anyone double up the seals on the hood?

That's interesting - my Wammer hood is a perfect fit and and clamps down super-tight on the OEM seal, especially with the XMetal billet latch.

Ouch! Quicklsilver is perfectly good oil. That piston was looks kinda lean to me.

    Super Jet Best Aftermarket Engine

I'm going to disagree with Gil - there's no need to be talking to your engine builder a lot if you explain what you want, settle on a budget, and the engine works right out of the box when you get it. My vote goes to XScream on that score. A great engine builder gets you the motor you want and...

    Yup - that's why I wear a lacrosse helmet.

    Super Jet Best Aftermarket Engine

Expected budget is a tough one to answer. Once you have the short block, pipe, carbs, ignition, pump and prop factored in you can spend well north of $20k if you're talking about "big brap". Of course, you don't have to spend anything like that much to get a very noticeable difference in power...

    one way or scupper?

My ski floats off the back of my boat all day. I have a Home Depot one way and it never leaks. Just to be sure I have an automatic switch on the bilge pumps and the three way rotary switch which goes auto-off-on. When riding I leave them on all the time, and when moored I leave it on auto just...

Shop Stand used as a Loading Ramp

That's how I load my ski, although my ramp is a little less ghetto.... We have a toolbox in the truck and it now has a big dent in it thanks to XScream. Turns out when you drop in an 822cc XScream 8mm stroker, a quick blip on the throttle launches the ski quite a bit further. Smacked the toolbox...

Super Jet those of yall not running stock sypon bilge.

I don't think you can use that for dual cooling. You need to drill and tap the spare boss opposite the stock cooing for that. Don't forget that the siphon is designed to suck water out - the opposite of cooling.

    C6 injury

Yeah, but mine was really bad. Mine was pushing on my sciatic nerve causing excruciating pain in my leg and some numbness and loss of muscle control in my foot. For sure try other options, but if it gets to the point where surgery is required then I just wanted to let you know that it's a very...

    C6 injury

I had the surgery last year and it works really well. BUT it takes a long time to get back to full strength, like 4 to 6 months. If you're being advised to get the surgery then I would follow that advice - it's a very quick, safe and effective procedure. But, don't do what I did and hold out...
