Where did you buy the carb? Mikuni or off brand? Did you verify jetting? The last new OEM mikuni I bought came jetted for a 650 so you could very well be lean as suggested above. 6m6 (650) runs 115 pilot and 120 main. 61x (701) runs 115 pilot 135 main.

Are your locating pins on the pump mounting tabs getting hung up on something?

Fair point by Steve c. Have you tried slightly rotating driveshaft or midshaft to ensure your splines are mated and able to fully couple?

Good thing you now have the knowledge on how to replace stators! You’ll probably replacing that one in short order but I hope your experience with the knock off electronics is different from most folks.

Pump seal is seated around wear ring and is squished up against the shoe.

I don’t put anything personally but yeah just pointing out that OEM calls for sealant.

Manual calls for yamabond so mikesx is on point.

I bought a S/S switch from them as well and noticed nothing out of sorts but there’s big money in fakes out there and they are getting harder to identify. I am considering a stator from them but it’s a 500ish dollar gamble so I’m not sure I’m keen on the risk.

So… what is everyone’s experience with this vendor? Prices are pretty low comparatively but I heard rumblings about potential illegitimate products (Chinese knock offs). Thoughts?

Any ETA on stators?
