Get a flywheel puller. Harbor freight has them for like $15. Or any hardware oriented place really. Put it on straight and torque it off. The flywheel tends to jolt off the crankshaft fairly violently, that's normal.
Live and learn. Without the reeds, the air that's supposed to be going to the cylinder from the crankcase as the piston comes down instead goes straight back out the intake.
There was a serious lack of urgency with some of those guys. If I was in that group, I would have thrown my ski to the side and dived down with Josh. A sinking ski is no joke. All in all it worked out.
what do you wear now?
My helmet has only stopped my ski from hitting my face once. About 4 or 5 other times my ski will hit my head when I'm in the water after a failed whatever. Totally worth it either way.
I'd be deathly afraid of a simple fender bender. Somebody roles into me going about 10 mph faster. Truck would handle it pretty good considering my jet-ski on the hitch hauler absorbed the entire impact. I'll always keep the ski in the bed of the truck.
Meh don't worry about it. I have a video capture card I can record video from on my PC. I would just have to find a VCR. I'd either find one in my appt complex's common areas, ask a work buddy for one, buy one straight out, or craigslist one.
You have to show them how to do their job sometimes unfortunately.
Franny, go here: http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Vehicle/Boats.htm. Print out the section outlined below:

How to title a homemade boat
To title...
It won't fly. The only way to get a HIN is to buy a ski RTR from a manufacturer that is USCG certified to build a ski with HIN, or have the state issue you a HIN. That's it. Two ways. I've never heard or seen any other way of doing it legally.
