If you're trying to make it out of aluminum from a local hardware store it's going to cost you an arm and a leg. Probably more than it would be to buy a complete one. You need to locate a supplier and go from there

Good clean oem midshaft

I'm looking to put a few foot straps in my ski. One in the front and one perpendicular across the back. What do you guys use. Dakine supremo? Xlace? Proform?

If you want a snug pole and a spring then you need to make a spacer thay fits between the spring and bolt. This way when you tighten it the spacer gets pinched instead of putting pressure on the bracket
