Your engine should have no issues running at full throttle if it's jetted correctly. My engine has done the mark Hahn 300 multiple times with no issues. That race is 5 hours long and you're wide open the whole time. It all comes down to your setup.

I don't blame the ping pong balls. I actually think it's the footholds. Doing the wide tray removed almost all of the flotation in the upper deck.

I've had great luck with fiberglass reeds on stock cages. The vf2 reeds are also a good choice.
