My Power Valves are hitting the exhaust manifold and preventing them from opening all the way. Looks like on of the bolts holding the right PV in is also hitting the exhaust manifold which is preventing it from siting straight on the motor.
Not sure if there is a spacer someone makes that I...
Anyone have any instruction on power valve removal and any torque specs on putting it back on?
I cant get a wrench on either of the two upper middle bolts to insert the Exhaust manifold. If I could take the Power Valve off I could get to the bolt and tighten it then re install the PV but wasnt...
Where can I find the studs (think there are 4) that go into the engine case and holds the intake in with lock nuts?
Or what size are they, maybe I can buy them online?
Thanks
Peter
Well the timing was way off because remember I went through several stators in a matter of a month. The two screws kept loosing which would make the stator jump back and forth which would cause the timing to be all over the place.
Could not figure out why the screws were not holding. Used blue...
I think your right on my engine analysis.
I dont think there was detonation here either.
There was metal stuck on the dome of the burned cylinder which was metal from the bearing entering the cylinder. I just didnt see it until I looked closely today. It all looked like carbon build up but...
the other piston looks mint.
As far as fuel, i was running fresh 110 octaine race fuel
also due to the broken motor mounts the motor had massive vibration going on and the timing place screws became loose. The timing was probably all over the place with a loose stator? But that still doesnt...
Why wasnt there any metal in the cylinder with the destroyed piston?
Im puzzled as to why the piston got mashed up but the cylder wall of that piston is still smooth as glass?
ADA billet 920 89mm big bore top end, crank works 6mil 133 long rod crank,225 compression,
I did flood the engine bay a month ago but had it running within 12 hours.
What causes detonation?
Is it a timing issue?
I guess its time for a rebuild, lol. Rod snapped and went through the case by the starter and through the bottom. Looks like the top ring is fused to the piston. Top of piston looks a mess.
Trying to figure out the exact sequence
