The total for the shipping was $117 USD with insurance, the price of the pole obviously varies depending on anodizing. Overall Knoxie was a great guy to deal with, great communication, can't wait till I get my hands on it.
After much deliberation I decided to go with a black anodized KP-Freeride pole, I was torn between that and the Xmetal but I wanted to check out the KP pole.
Around the footholds, into the rideplate inserts, around the exhaust outlet, into the bondline, under the bulkhead, through the foam fill holes in the bilge, cooling line fittings, steering cable fitting.....any one or combination of any of these.
I was curious about going this route, I didn't measure it but it looked like it would need to be very thin to get it to fit inside the XM pole. Does the hexagon protrusion on the bottom of the pole seem to have any effect on the life of the bushing, I also worried that it would work its way...
I have stripped the hull back down after my quicky end of season assembly and have a decent list of modifications for this winter.
Current list of to-dos:
Smooth out the intake tract on the hull
Widen tray and remove humps on gunwales
Replace failing PVC exhaust tube with aluminum
Close off...
The company I worked for did the same, everything over $100 value we calculated the price shipped with insurance, charged the customer that then shipped without insurance. They tracked all of the shipments that went out like this with the amount the insurance cost and they found, when packaged...
