No it wont pull rpm at all when it is in the water.

I am having an issue with my 2008 SXR 800. I recently changed the steering cable and for some reason now the engine wont go above idle when it is in the water? It runs fine and pulls RPM on the trailer but anytime it is in the water it fails to go above idle. It has a wetpipe installed as well...

So I recently replaced the steering cable on my 2008 SXR and now the motor is not reaching rpm. I have dual cooling installed on the pump and had to change the angle of one of the fittings off of the pump and am wondering if that could effect it as it has a wet pipe on it. It is hard to diagnose...

I beleive it is a dead battery because after putting it on the charger for 30 minutes it started right up, and I looked at the diaphragms on the carbs they seem good to me. I have a set of Novis and they each have their own fuel pump. I should be reinstalling the motor today and hope to fire it...

k so i think i found the problem guys not related to electrical at all :P but im still wondering why my battery is dying but i removed the inline fuel strainer in the diaphragm pump for the carbs and they were completely plugged with crud so cleaned em out. Havent got to try the ski out yet but...

is there anywhere on the forum that has a break down of taking apart the fuel pump side of the carbs i have only taken apart the float bowls and what all am i looking for inside the pump? Thanks

is it possible that it could be the crank seals ive been doing some reading and see some people have similar leaning out issues when in the water and they found it to be the crank seals is there an easy way to check them? Also starting to question the reeds now

I have an 08 SXR it has a wetpipe on it so i have removed the factory temperature sensor and just siliconed the connection and electrical taped it also has the 6 degree timing advance . It also has a Bildge pump installed. I am just stating this to let you guy know about any changes i have done...

If ur getting away with 90 93 will work better or be safer if anything

I recently bought a set of carbs and the seller said he had just rebuilt them including the throttle shafts and he never put the seal on the end of the throttle shaft non drum side and i can see fuel pour out the side of the carbs when i pump the primer sweet deal

I ordered a new set of domes from blowsion and since i installed them my machine is running rough i lost 700 rpm i used to hit 7000-7100 rpms and now i am only getting 6200-6300 my old domes were 29 cc and i was getting 160 psi and now my new domes are 27cc and im getting 190 psi im running 94...

what should my pop off pressure be i have a set of novi 48's

just grab a wetpipe probably the best single upgrade to gain some solid power

I found that on my carbs they were missing the seal at the end of the throttle shaft you can look straight down the shaft and see inside the carbs im guessing that cannot be helping at all?

Well i cant seem to find where the airleak is so should i just go ahead pull the motor and out new gaskets and seals

ya i would say go to the next size jets you really shouldnt have to have your screws out more than 1 1/2 turn so jet up

btw i pressurized it to only 6 psi
