Ahoy Mate!
Welcome aboard! Keep a couch around if you can. Works well in the family riding atmosphere!
Stand-ups rock. But couches, contrary to most x posts, are not evil!
Finally watched....(vids blocked at work)..
That was the best vid I've seen in a long time! The dive for the hood was great. The reef....clear water...scary!
Just great in general.
Thanks!
Done deal. Machined hubs..(extremely good price)...Applied ospho to the axle and re-coated with cold galv. All seems good.
Primed machined surfaces with auto primer, then cold galv.
Big Thanks to Wilson Machine & fab here in St. Auggie!
The last race WAS fun to watch. I'm glad I wasn't in it! Serious speed in ocean chop! Really good riders out there.
I don't remember the stuff over the PA. But that seems to be taken care of.
Looking forward to the Sickest Trick, and the race!
Still no "Cherry Buster"? If not, no explaination...
Fixed or hourly rate...It's gotta be better than this,,,,

For your amusement...
I've not been to many events. You're gonna love it. Whether you ride or not, whether the waves are great or junk, you're gonna love it. Bring a camera.
Thanks for the input!
And the job gets bigger...(doesn't it always?)
A friend was kind enough to give me a good set of rims, tires, and hubs. After doing the work in this thread I tried to mount the wheels. (the hubs were for a straight journal...mine is tapered..2 different bearings).
Couldn't...
Glad to hear. I had pretty much decided on the CF...Still gotta talk to Jetmaniac about details...
Nothing against RRP...but price counts.
Again...Good thread!
You're gonna lose the turf. Don't worry, 25mm underpad will help your knees. You can pretty much chose your footholds and still keep the stock rail caps (they are a biotch to get off)
You've got to remove them to properly install footholds.
The stock turf sux anyway.
If you wanna keep the stock...
Well, I guess my prep was weak on the axle...to say the least...lol.
Tiny orange bubbles are weeping thru the paint. I thought they were seeds or something at first, maybe blown there thru the day...NOT. Wiped with my finger and orange liquid pustules! lol.
It's dark now...will take a pic...
Damn Canadian steel....lol.
I guess, after actually reading the can, that the only difference between brands might be the zinc content. Not looking to go that deep into it, but it seems that the anti-corrosion properties of zinc are the only factor making this stuff different from automotive...
Rustoleum...(sprayed a million cans and can't be sure that I spelled it correctly)
Whatever was available at the local ACE hardware. That was my plan.
You hear a lot of fisherman and jet ski folks complain about "chinese steel" and how springs used to last a lot longer. If a can or two of...
Is this new?
I think I saw a thread about a mag pump that was heavier, but less expensive....Can't recall if it was Thrust...
You know we rely on you for all of this product info! lol.
The axle will likely last longer than I am able to ride. The last one was square tube and lasted 17 years. However, after beating it (and everything else) to death with various weapons, I must have scooped 30 lbs of rusty chunks from the driveway!
It's not a terrible thing, (having to replace...
