Thanks for the replies.
The motor is all the way back on the mounts.
I see what happened now.
I'm assuming the motor needs to come out to pull the midshaft?
A search revealed the specs for the shaft/bearing placement, but no word on how to pull the midshaft.
Sounds like a lot of...
I pulled off my coupler cover this morning to install a bilge pump.
The couplers are barely touching!!
It is a 1991 SN w/ a 650.
As far as I know it is the original motor.
Is it the wrong midshaft or something?
The motor mounts are all good.
I've been riding it like this for a...
I sent my payment to jake for a used AC pole by paypal.
As soon as Jake got the payment he ran out to ship it.
Within a half an hour of payment I had a tracking #.
That is such a piece of mind when buying.
The pole arrived yesterday and was exactly how it appeared in the photos...
thanks EvanB.
Can the motor go in and out with these pipes on?
Wouldn't it be easier to install the pipe with the motor on a bench?
Looking at Mike Serlin's avatar I could see where that heavy pipe might be prone to crack!
Still on the fence whether to install the Pro-Tec or suck it...
Does anyone have any pointers on installing one of these cast iron beasts?
I have read they are difficult to keep mounted properly.
I have searched a couple of times, has anyone ever done a tech thread on installing a pipe?
Even if it were for another brand it might give some insight.

Drove over 900mi. each way to pick it up, and would do it again in a second!
Great seller, offers clean, clean skis at fair prices.
No dissappointments here.

I've been out on boats a few times last summer.
That was when I decided I had to get another superjet.
How's the riding up in...
They bear a startling resemblance to my vaccuum cleaner.
I'm so happy to have another superjet!
Can't wait to get this ugly duckling home.
If only I kept my b-pipe from my last ski.
$650 with the honed cylinders and new pistons.
Done deal.
Gonna pick it up next week.
Hopefully it's not too soggy and I can ride it as is for a bit.
After a couple months of reading this forum, I've come to realize that squares are kinda cool.

Hello, this is my first post, although I've reading along for a couple of months, and riding stand ups for over ten years.
I've been bummed ever since I sold my roundnose. Especially now that I live two miles from the ocean.
So I've...
