I talked to an old employee at wetjet and his recommendation for this engine was more compression. On my 428 (wetjet) I swapped the bn38 to a sbn38 and dried out the pipe. It really woke up the ski up and improved low and top end. Might be worth trying as well...

I have found when you hit max power at 3/4 throttle that the ski is too rich. Try turning your high screw in a 1/4 turn and see if it makes a diff.

Wonder if this would extend the life of aluminum sprockets and mx chain. As well as be a cleaner option compared to lube.
