On a stock to slightly modified boat, there is probably little difference, the downside is affordable, stock 08+ impellers have proven difficult to find lately so you are probably stuck with buying aftermarket.

I don't know if you can find them anymore BUT Slippery made a vest call the Switch that is longer than most (although not marketed as a "tall" vest). I am 6'3" and they actually come to my waistband so I don't look ridiculous. Been wearing them for 10 years but I think they may have discontinued...

It would seem that the midshaft load would be spread across the entire mounting area and not push out that middle section. The area around the mounting hardware looks to be intact. Is the bulkhead still secured to the hull around the midshaft?

Any idea what caused the damage?
