There's good stuff out there for any set-up or riding style. I have no experience with R&D stuff. For yamaha...none of it is cheap. There are cheap pipes available for older kawi's, but not for sj's. The good news is that you will actually feel the difference with a pipe. Biggest improvement...

Those don't just bolt into a stock-type set-up. The pipe is pricey, and you've gotta do something about your fuel tank, battery, etc... Great pipe! but deeper pockets are required!

True. But, as an owner of multiple b-pipes...straight from Factory, I've often wondered why this market has not been tapped by comparable products. I love the b-pipe....but a sled company ruling the exhaust market for basic mod jet-ski's? You would think.........
