    FX-1 Who's running tubbies on their FX1

Yeah I know. Thanks Tom. I have all the parts for the 140mm kawi conversion. I also talked to you regarding the special kawi/yami bearing needed for the conversion.

    FX-1 Who's running tubbies on their FX1

I really need to try a ski with them. My biggest complaint with the fx-1 is the loss of hook up when leaning over. My superjet really stays hooked up. If the fx-1 had the hook of the superjet it would be game over for flatwater fun. The 30lb difference between the two skis is night and day.

Turn sharper? I feel like the fx-1 turns just as sharp as my rn superjet. Please explain.

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

do some foothold install searches on here. There is tons of great info on here about how to do foothold installs. It will probably take hours or even days until you think you know enough to "do it right". There are a lot of opinions on which are the best. I went with water craft factories...

    FX-1 FX1 for a beginner???

If you take a bit of time with the fx-1 it can be a good first ski. It takes time though. You will spend a lot of time falling into the water. After a short time, your balance will be superb. Then riding any standup will be a breeze. You could hop on a rn superjet and ride it decent on...

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

I'm the same height as you. Most people suggest getting the holds as far forward as possible. The problem is the exhaust pipe that goes through the right side. I'd suggest moving them until you hit the pipe. Some people take out the exhaust all together and have it exit in the front of the...

how many race superjets vs. sxr's

is there a website for Greatlakes Watercross series, in Wisconsin? I live in chicagoland, but WI is not far away. A race with my older superjet would be a blast in the vintage class.

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

I filled in the gaps well with the 5200 and am allowing them to dry until tomorrow evening. The box says it takes 7 days to cure completly. I don't need to wait that long before glassing over them do I? Is the filler necessary, if I'd like to glass them tomorrow evening? If so, where can I...

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

Ok I got the 5200. I glued in the holds with it. I used 7 stainless screws to secure each one, but it seems that it may not have been enough. There are still some gaps inbetween the holds and the ski. Can I just fiberglass over them? Do I need to scrape up the holds before I put the...

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

Ok I got the right hold to fit. Now it time to get the left one in. Anyone know if I need 3M 5200 or if any old marine grade 5 minute epoxy will work fine to hold in the holds? Any advantage to 5200? 3M usually makes the best adhesive products so I'm assuming something is better about...

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

Can any marine epoxy work instead of 5200? I am going to glass the holds in. Is biaxial fiberglass different from the standard fiberglass cloth I bought from ACE hardware? Where could I buy some biaxial cloth without having to go online and order? I'd like to do this today. For extra...

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

Thanks. Is there anywhere I can buy foam (outside of online) to refill the foam I'm going to cut out? How would I get the foam into the hold after installing it? I've been told that I could drill a small hole in the top of the gunwhale and pour the foam in there. Does that sound right? How...

    Surf report: Wave rave

How tough is it to ride 3 to 5 footers? I'm thinking of bringing my friend from MN on Saturday, but he's only ridden my superjet once on the lake. It was a full 8 hour day of riding, but it was on a small lake. With waves that big, I'm wondering how I'll fair on my fx-1 without tubbies.

How far forward should I mount my footholds?

So the tip of the toe 13 inches from the front of the tray with the dash removed then? It's 2:30am here and I've been working for about 4 hours to remove the old turf and glue. Man this is a tough job. I tried using acetone, but it didn't work that well. I've been using a wood chizle to...

I got it running the same day at the river. Thanks to an xh20 regular here (Justin thanks a million). It ran great today. I learned how to do subs with it. I must be pressing my luck huh? Still no bildge.

FX-1 FX1, 144 Pump 10/16 -7, JD Intake, Protech Plate Need more Power

I think a bunch of people just run the bildge the entire time they ride and only turn it off when they reach shore. I just had my ski sunk today and a bildge would have been a lifesaver. I really have never had more than an inch or two of water in my ski. Today the hose the shoots water...
