If you open the middle screw this will soften it up some, also agree on the bottom screw. Single SBN 44 (Aftermarket version, but not modified) will work really well also. I ran the 44 for a while then switched to a TLR Modded 48/44 (Bottom was bored to 48), It worked great for freestyle...

Can the handle brackets be rotated up 90 degrees? This way the bar is up on top of the "Tongue"? This may give it more support. This way the handle is against the alum, vs off the end.

Cut 2" back from bulkhead to where the pump tunnel bulge is then down the sides of it. Leave at least 1.5" of materal along the sides so you have a good lip to adhere back to.
