In line external mukuni DF62 fuel pump verses internal carburetor fuel pump for a GP 1200.

A pulse type pump is a bit digital in output but it smooths out at high rpms. A Blaster is easier to tune while tied to a trailer since you can sink it deeper than a standup. I can get most of the tuning work done with the ski tied down and sunk up to the hood seal. Often the peak RPM is the...

Then just install a fuel pressure gauge and see what it does at full power. If the internal restrictors are drilled out then place the gauge between the carbs and external restrictor.

Well that changes everything. The question now is how much did they reduce the main jet signal and how consistent was the machining between all three carbs? To begin, you have three individual cylinders that have different mixture requirements. Add to that, now you have carbs that may be...

In line external mukuni DF62 fuel pump verses internal carburetor fuel pump for a GP 1200.

The maximum compression will depend on the ignition timing, air/fuel mixture, fuel quality, and how long you run it wide open. A Zeeltronics ignition will make setting the carbs safer since you can pull timing back more than stock. You wont hurt anything if a richer than peak RPM fuel setting...

In line external mukuni DF62 fuel pump verses internal carburetor fuel pump for a GP 1200.

I was referring to the internal restrictor inside the carb, many aftermarket carbs have them drilled so they can use an external one. As you have found, large two strokes are very easy to burn up! Always set the main jet/ top screw overly rich whenever any changes are made. Its very difficult...

In line external mukuni DF62 fuel pump verses internal carburetor fuel pump for a GP 1200.

The DF62 flows a lot. You want to mount the pump high so the pulse line can completely drain any liquids back into the engine. The pulse line should be as short as possible in order to get best performance. If each carb has a restrictor just make sure there is no pressure drop on the pump side...

Pro-tec head.. Will I notice a difference between domes? Will it be safe?

Bore your nozzle, that will give you more thrust. It may be difficult to find anyone who has done meltdown testing at 8000 feet but adding a little compression and reducing the pump load is the path I would take.

What killed the forum? How can it be revived?

I think the new riders spend more time/money on their tatoos than they do on their flip boats. Two things that I have little interest in.

What killed the forum? How can it be revived?

Yes, one of our local riders organized a get together and noted that this was the fourth set of new faces since 1990.

Or ask what jets to use! This hobby has never attracted very many long term participants and kids now have so many more choices. The industry needs a lot of flow through people in order to survive. I know all the parts and supplies I have bought over the past 30 years would add up to a few...

Super chicken on floating jet port

Are you talking about a Kawasaki 650SC? If so it is V bottomed like every other couch, just a little shallower and wider.

    Loctite v antiseize

The red and/or other high strength loctite may be too strong at times. If it is just warm up the part to around 200 degrees, the loctite will soften and everything will unscrew with ease.

    Loctite v antiseize

Anytime a bolt is long enough to stretch some it will always have tension so antiseize or pipe sealant is ideal. If the bolt or screw is very short then the slightest movement between parts will remove all the tension so locktite is more appropriate. Look through the Superjet maintenance manual...

    Matching case numbers

Check the hole size and lateral location if they arent a match set.. Many of these have been reassembled after being mixed up without failure. I want the hole to be correct regardless.

ported engine theory. do I suck or does it suck?

Always start much richer than what you expect and lean from there. That is the safest way to tune since our engines are so easy to burn up. A strict freestyle ski can live with hotter main circuit jetting than one that is run full throttle for a long time. If its too rich at full throttle...

ported engine theory. do I suck or does it suck?

Reverse jetting works great if you like to fan the throttle all the time as most riders do. If you are smooth on the throttle it will likely be horribly rich under the pipes operating range, 1/4-1/2 open throttle. Smooth throttle guys are much better off if they power tune the top screw rich of...

ported engine theory. do I suck or does it suck?

Low port would be stock 61X port height. This may be a little foreign to jetskiers since we almost always use tuned pipes. Untuned or opened exhaust (like outboards) will lose overall power whenever the port gets too high. A tuned pipe will gain power with higher ports, at least while the pipe...

ported engine theory. do I suck or does it suck?

A stock pipe will run 3-4 mph slower but there wont be any surge in power. I installed a low port , stock piped, 701 in (of all things) a Wavejammer. This one also has a WR3 144 pump conversion. With an old pitched down Concord and 85mm nozzle, it has exceptional response and goes 44 at...

ported engine theory. do I suck or does it suck?

The rush of power is your pipe working. You can alter the effect but it will never go away any time a good tuned pipe is used. If its a B-pipe try killing it with more water. If you want very linear power install the stock pipe.
