    Coupler for X2 701 Conversion

Which model and year Tigershark coupler adapts to the X2 driveshaft and Yamaha coupler (engine side)? Thanks.

    X2 Homecoming ?

Recommendation: Take out 650 Put in SXR engine Put in SXR electronics Put in Factory pipe Ride, Ride , Ride Add aftermarket parts later. Using the stock platform before adding all the aftermarket parts makes for a great benchmark.

    Wish it were mine!

Yeah, it is on my 750. Even at an additional 1.5" it should still work with a little more shaping of the tank. The Mod chamber really does fit nicely in the hull. The OEM exhaust hose form the center bleed outlet to the waterbox is also nearly a perfect fit.

    Wish it were mine!

I'm not sure how much bigger the TNT chamber is compared to the B1 Mod but a little heat shaping of an SJ tank works well with the Mod chamber in an X2.

    750 with dual 38 mikunis

I personally have never compared the two, however sometimes you need to consider the source of information. Group K is a great company to deal with and they know they stuff but their core business is modifying OEM parts. Using the 38s, they recommend having them bored ($200 by Group K) to a...

I started chopping my X2 and couldn't stop!

You can only pull when your off the throttle or maybe slightly higher RPM. Works great though and still holding up with the tiny modified choke cable.

    701 swap

I would say using studs is mandatory as it will allow the torsional stress to be relieved, which is good considering the amount of constant torque they will be under by the engine. The nut to secure the cases separate of the bedplate is a great idea. The trick will be getting enough surface...

Is this required for the scupper to work?

Just cut off the D-shaped tab and you're good to go. Leave the tube in place if you want to keep using the OEM bilge.

is being 6' 2" too tall for a old Kawa X2

I'm 6', 190lb and can ride mine all day with std motocross bars. I also have 2.5" cut off the back and a shortened rideplate, which helps keep the nose up allowing you to ride in a comfortable position. Plus, knowing it already has a 750 in it is even better. The X2 in stock form blows.

800 sxr engine in superjet hull

I've got an X2 with a 800 and Blaster 1 Mod pipe and I also have a '06 SJ with a B pipe. As of now, the X2 will destroy the SJ from bottom to top. Don't get me wrong, I love my SJ and I've only begun modding it but apples to apples the 800 out performs the 701.......as it should.

    Yami conversion plate interest thread

I understand and all for this being done but the X2 guys are probably going to be the biggest market. A straight swap (stock carb, exhaust, etc) from a 650 to 701 will be far better than a straight swap from 650 to 750.

    Yami conversion plate interest thread

Out of the 28 who said yes via their keyboard, you can count on 5 actually sending payment for one. The reality is, you have a very limted market, considering there are only a few of us willing to dump a lot of money into these things, let alone converting to a Yamaha platform.
