I use a 1/4" shank air grinder for the rough cut then a dremel with flex shaft for chamfering ports. The air grinder is a cheap-o but has worked for 10 years. Fastenal sells mini flap wheels with a 1/4" shank that are awesome for removing tool marks before you polish.
Google " 1/4" shank...
I tried everything from 19-35psi and never could get a hard hitting bottom end. I removed my choke, bolted all intake pieces together and used a flap wheel to match port everything. This might have increased the volume but killed velocity causing the need for low pop. I laughed the first time I...
I had a similar issue when trying to use to small of a steering nozzle. Jet pumps are a delicate balance. Also, could it be engine/pipe temp? Over cooling a motor that doesn't need it like possibly you installed dual cooling with the new prop and didn't add water restrictions after the engine...
61x w/ worx,155mm pump, this port (as a starting point), b-pipe, 31cc domes under an ADA head.
SBN 44 28psi,122.5LS,155HS, 2.0NS
Love it, if you're thinking about doing your first port job buy these. They last forever if you take care of them.
Might be time to go up a jet size or two. Makuni has a graph that explains what does where, it will help you find your "flat spot." For me lowering pop off seemed to help. It would take effect right after the low speed jet. Building a pop off tester is easy buy a gauge that reads 0-30psi (or...
Does anyone know if a two stroke would still generate enough pulse to run a fuel pump under positive pressure? It seems like the more pressure you had, the weaker the pulse would be. I know that it already has 14.7psi on it because of atmospheric pressure (and it works) just wondering how much...
At least I would have an unlimited supply of cold water for the air to water intercooler. Ecotrons makes a efi kit that has some excellent reviews obviously it would be more cost effective to just buy a big boy motor and run N/A. Just interested in the subject I guess...
@Quinc,
Nice looking build! I'm at work and only made it to page two but will read it all later.
@tntsuperjet,
Thank you for your input as well. I was considering building a pressure activated exhaust butterfly valve with a pneumatic linear actuator to help control exhaust flow. It would...
Yeah sorry for bringing back memories but I'm really thinking about giving it the old college try. Turbos hold to much heat for a ski although they seem more ideal. I have been reading anything I can find on the internet about forced induction 2 strokes. Seems like the masters of the art are...
I have one but I had to modify the pole mount in order to use it. To be honest I was never completely happy with mine and I wouldn't sell it to you that way. I would need to work on it before selling it. If you're interested in the blue one pm me and we can talk about it. I'm not trying to...
I made one for my 650sx, the first one that I made bent where the steering bolt went through. I would suggest quenching the pole in water right after welding. It becomes anealed from the welding. Pm me if you need any more pics.
After a lot of overtime I had the hull of my dreams built. It's built from reflections carbon fiber. Jeff Blair did the hull build and I have been working on everything else. Because I'm waiting on some gaskets I am not running my ported 61x, I grabbed another one off the shelf and slapped an...
What about an aluminum sheet metal piece that you would screw and silicone to the exterior? Tell me what size and I will plasma cut you one out. Waffle House engineering right there haha. Pm me and I'll get your address exc. if you're interested.
