If you have to "feather " it to keep it running you have a fuel problem. check your rebuild. Did you buy Mikuni rebuild kits ? and new jets and needle and seats?, Its a must with all the ethanol in the fuel today along with a complete strip down of those carbs.

I have done it stock 760 with stock 44's in b1 with ltd pipe with a solas I. I don't recall if I used an msd enhancer. I loved it. If you have access to free 760 go for it and drop the whole thing in and just do the pipe. that should only take a few hours for the switch. if you don't like it...
