yeah I noticed some of those aftermarket sleeves seem to have ports more suitable for stroked cranks......do you know much about these: http://www.blowsion.com/products/839-yamaha-850-big-bore-sleeves-blowsion.aspx , mentions they can be used with stock to 6mm stroker.
At this stage I dont...
Ha ha ! yeah need to make up for skill with horsepower =)
Yeah have checked out that post a fair bit.....took this comment from it:
"I was told about the same thing from some other well known engine builders.
They like to run their freestyle engines around 123° ~ 124° with a maximum being...
another option, I could get another 61x cylinder and use that.....calculated I should get something like:
89.5° Exhaust Port Opens
117° Transfer Port Opens
181° Exhaust Duration
126° Transfer Duration
27.5° Blowdown Time
Im guessin most strokers use re-sleeved cylinders or billet so you can...
I got hold of a 5mm stroker engine in pieces (minus head).....looking at the port timing of the ported 61x cylinder that came with, it seems pretty aggressive....(measured with stock base gasket, so piston comes ~2mm out of cylinder)
82° Exhaust Port Opens (+/-1)
114.5° Transfer Port Opens...
its your scupper valve ....when the ski is upside down it lets all the air of the air pocket trapped in your hull.
my ski (with scupper) if it flipped it would take about 20sec upside down before it was too far gone for bilge to recover it........with no scupper they seem to float happy...
i couldnt find any of those ip68 rated boxes of a suitable size locally ...so i made an aluminium one:

Yeah do have access to CNC .....i contemplated milling around but thought it maybe dodgey....but hey ..if the pros do it
sweet! thats what i like to hear!
So is this the magic number is it ?? =) :fingersx:
I thought the transfers on a 61x 701 cylinder were the same (or very close) to a 62t/64x 760 cylinder.....i will check again tho
only got one set of cases so dont really want to do that ...have a complete spare 760 top end that im thinking of playing around with.
I have heard about decking off the bottom off the 760 cylinder to lower the exhaust ports, then machining domes to allow for the pistons ....
questions are....
if the sleeves are removed to deck the cylinder bottom are they still ok to be re-installed or are new sleeves required?
and also...
i think most of those indonesian suppliers on that site are scammers...makes it more obvious when they have all the specs wrong ....

This is a complimation vid I did of our friend and fellow rider Stace Hopper (a New Zealand Freestyle rider) that was tragically killed in a plane crash last friday.
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie"...
Yeah Ride Salt 99% of the time.....no didnt get it anodised...probably should have ...
Yeah i originally wanted to get them inside the box, but was going to make the box so much bigger....and yeah apparently MSD instructs you to mount 6in away!?
I figured those MSD boots have pretty good...
I couldn't find any of the plastic enclosures that would fit nicely...so got a mate to make me one out of ally with a perspex lid and IP68 rates cable glands.
Havent had and water get in yet....
