A few pics of how I make my own trim cables.
It is fairly easy to do, but you will need a lathe and drill press. I use a spool of wescon cable conduit (ok I only bought enough to do my cable since there`s a place near me that sells it by the foot). you can order it online through...
Hard to tell from the pics but it looks like the motor sits too high? It also looks like you are using couch (sit down ski) motor mounts. You can switch to superjet mounts to lower the motor or mill/sand down the bottom of those mounts. IIRC I was able to mill 7mm off the bottom of a set of...
I have used jb weld for my ufo mounts that hold my gas tank and waterbox and it seemed to work just fine. I put 3 strips of 2" wide masking tape together, poked a hole in the middle for the bolt to go through (use a long bolt) and put that together with the tape touching only the top of the...
If anyone is going to sand a cover or set of cases flat so they will seal, the best flat surface to use is a mirror. The thicker the better and tape your sandpaper down to it. Then sand in a figure 8 motion. The figure 8 will keep you sanding an even amount of material off of all the sides and...
The rule around my family is if the hazardous freight tool is electric or pneumatic wear welding gloves. I actually have a lot of harbor freight tools. Most are fairly good but some are great and others suck. Their 115pc cobalt drill bit set is far better than I would have thought, it drills...
Yep with no bulkhead or foam the rips sink faster than a rock. I lost a cooling line in a no wake zone my first time out. Within 30 seconds of thinking this thing feels heavy am I taking on water? It was 12 feet under and pulling me down on the end of the rope. My brother just made it over as...
If the tap is too long and gets close to hitting the stator fins but you still need to thread the fitting in deeper pick up a harbor freight pipe tap and grind the end off. Works great for seating those fittings that you need every possible millimeter of clearance out of.
I have been making my own cables. Been using 2 of these outer conduits with a splice in the center. https://www.mfgsupply.com/gomini/gominicontrols/gominicontrolscontrol/gominicontrolscontrol564/az2315-78.html making my own inner with 5/64 stainless aircraft cable and brazing stainless rod...
I could see the rip being difficult to reboard in deep water, if you don`t get a little forward momentum going it always trys to come over backwards. Ducky is right about it being like a drift car, mine tracks well and carves great when its not on plane. At just above planing speed it feels a...
My guide as of the hull I just picked up from o'hare airport terminal in chicago earlier this morning.
1. Buy hull you thought was getting shipped from inside the US.
2. Get tracking info which shows it being shipped from eastern europe.
3. Insert lots of pick up my eastern European mail order...
Yeah the difference between a superjet and a rip is night and day. Once you get used to the rip it will be weird to jump back on a superjet though, it will feel like a tank.
Go with a lightweight aftermarket hull. I went from a SN to a superfreak badass and the difference was amazing. 61x 701 from a couch, wet jet 46mm carb and intake, fiber reeds, coffman sizzler pipe and a 9/15 hooker. It tops out at 49mph, has a stock gas tank so I can ride for hours and does...
I have no idea what temp and pressure it actually runs at but back when I had a wet jet pipe on my SN I used a standard dayco upper radiator hose that fit and never had an issue. You could get a silicone radiator hose and it would hold up to higher heat yet.
I have 3mm 5mm and 7mm wetsuits depending on the temp. My favorite boots/shoes are actually bass pro flats boots that are designed to be worn over waders. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/world-wide-sportsman-flats-boots-for-men I ended up with 2 sizes smaller than my usual to get the right...
Should have plenty. I have a ytx9 (cheapest sealed 9ah 120cca battery that e-bay had) in my WDK rip with a 61x 701 and it spins it over just fine. It has 175psi comp. My superfreak has a stock 61x with 150psi and I have a 7ah emergency light sealed battery with 1/4" slip on connectors and 10g...
No that is not normal. Air should only be able to go through the check valve into the tank not the other direction. Sounds like you need a new check valve
