how does nikasil hold up against water intrusion? I've always wondered why more cylinders weren't made without sleeves and assumed that was why.. as in its a hell of a lot cheaper to bore a sleeve then get stuff replated.

I took the carbs apart from a blown GP760 I bought awhile back and found this... The jet was completely blocked with a chunk of brass that must have been broken off (probably why the 760 was seized). I cleaned it out the best I could and it looks like whoever worked on it last may have tried...
