Fx1 oem wb outlet is 2 1/4". The fx long hose reduces to 2" after the box and is longer than the RN hose. I currently use the rad dudes box and long hose with a coupler and short piece at the through hull pipe. I have 2" of padding under the box so everything lines up nicely and doesn't pull...
I worked with Mike at pwcgraphics.com. I've ordered 4 complete pwc kits and many reg#'s from him the past 2 years and he does good work. Printed on 3m scotchcal vinyl.
Installed graphics yesterday. Letting it sit in the sun today and couldn't resist taking a pic. Wasn't sure if I wanted to turf the rails or not. Think I've decided to do front and rear bumpers for a stockish fx1 look. Just a couple loose ends to tie up. Test ride by the weekend.
Forgot to get a pic of this new RadDudes FX-1 waterbox installed before putting the tank in but it fits so nice. I used (2) 1" foam blocks underneath and turned it slightly towards the bpipe outlet. Chamber is nicely aligned and has a finger gap over the motor mount. Exit hose also looks like...
I do, I just hate hogging the holes out of my parts. Couch mount holes are already bigger. I had them pushed all the way out and it was still an 1/8" high and the threads were already at the edge of the bedplate holes. Would've had to hog those out too. Taking an 1/8" off the bottom worked...
Day 4 of turfing still not done. Probably my least favorite part of a build. I do about 1 ski per year and that's enough. My priorities are function and feel. If I can make it look decent that's great but not something I'll lose sleep over. I went with 1" underpad sloping into front hold...
Slight setback. Had to fix another #_+&#)$! Kawasaki. Stock battery box was a pretty tight fit so I decided to make a smaller stronger one. Used an old battery covered in duck tape to wet lay a mix of carbon and glass over. Then peel ply> absorbent mat. Throw it in a bag and suck the air...
Yes I knew what had happened but also couldn't believe what had happened. It still has the stock flame arrestor. Bone stock 2011. Couldn't have picked a newer 800 to kill. It must take on water really fast and the siphon must be slow because I rode around a minute between the fountain and log...
Last Sunday evening I was chilling on the pontoon with no plans to ride a ski. Stop by a buddy's house and have a few drinks. They tell me their grandson just started riding this week and loves it. Having rebuilt the carbs earlier this season, I ask them how it's doing... They said "great...
Is it a straight tube or the funky double tube thing they tried? Cut the cracked portion off and shove a section of 2.25 stainless in there. Glue it in or use a short section of hose and clamps to secure it by the bulkhead. Carbon exhaust parts live a short life.
Worked on footholds yesterday. Need to beef the rear ones up a bit. I'll trim them similar to most adjustable style holds. FFH came out great.
Edit: Trimmed some. FFH will also serve as a storage compartment and help hide the ratchet.
Got the pump aligned and the midshaft on for the final time. Lowered the motor in and @&#*$!... it was sitting an 1/8" too high. I had my heart set on using these couch mounts so I decided to "machine" an 1/8" off the bottom using my fancy tools. I should have more epoxy here sometime today...
Good needle/seats? What is your pop off pressure set to? When I started trying combos I would get hesitation on the second flop. Pull the hood and would have fuel mix all over my hood liner. I ran the ski on the hose and watched my carbs with flame arrestors off. Tuning felt nice and crisp...
