There is supposed to be grease on the shaft/midshaft joint (on the splines).
The grease fitting allows grease to get behind the seals to keep water out. It doesn't grease the bearings.
I'd be interested how that is possible - HIN's are assigned by the USCG and/or individual states. A vendor from outside the country can't just make those up.
What format is the HIN you guys have on there?
Look at the bracket plates of the Cold Fusion boat posted. You can see that you have about 1/8 inch between the pole and the hull (taken up by the Superfreak bracket plates in the picture).

You're not comparing apples to apples, though - a pro-sponsored Team is a very far cry from a hobbyist, an enthusiast. I think you will have a hard time finding more than a handful private individuals that spend $20 million to race NASCAR.

People have put these pumps into Superjets. There's a fella on this board that did it, but I can't recall his name.
